While not nutrition-related, I wanted to take a moment and alert you regarding a couple animal charities that are close to my heart.

The first is Adopt-A-Dog in Armonk, NY.  That’s where my dog, Mac, came from.  I strongly encourage you to consider a shelter dog as your first choice when adopting.  And Adopt-A-Dog has plenty to choose from! They are also in need of donations, including food, pet supplies, and money.  Refer to their site for more details.  Your gifts are tax deductible too.

The next is Our Companions of Bloomfield, CT.   They have helped us train Mac.  Their rates are beyond reasonable, and the people who work and volunteer there are amazing.   Apart from pet training and therapy, Our Companions finds homes for abused and neglected animals.  And they have tons of useful pet-care information on their site.  Like Adopt-A-Dog, Our Companions is looking for donations.
